|
Belfast, the
capital city of Northern Ireland is beautifully located
on the coast below the Cave Hill and the Black Mountain.
Here, great ships of the past, such as the Titanic, were
built and launched - and the world-famous Irish Linen is
still widely available.
As you'd
expect, Belfast offers the visitor just about every
delight you could hope for and the best way to explore
is on foot. Sample the fine cuisine and immerse yourself
in the sparkling nightlife - friendly pubs, museums,
restaurants, theatres and concert halls, such as the
Waterfront hall, one of Europe's premier concert and
conference halls situated on the booming Lagan
waterfront.
The
Cathedral Quarter of Belfast, is home to St Anne's
Cathedral, which has an impressive display of stain

Dublin, the
capital city of the Republic of Ireland, is a
cosmopolitan, bustling city, which literally buzzes with
energy and excitement. However, the great thing about
Dublin is that if you fancy something quieter, half an
hours drive outside the city centre will take you to
mountain walks, stately homes and gardens and fishing
villages.
The city is
a great centre for culture and you'll be spoilt for
choice with all the fine museums, art galleries and
theatres. Dublin is also home to a great literary
tradition, its native sons include Shaw, Yeats, Wilde,
Joyce and Beckett. You can't talk about Dublin without
mentioning the architecture; walking around the city
you'll see everything from mediaeval and Georgian
architecture to more modern buildings.
Dublin is a
shoppers delight, you can buy anything from the latest
fashion to arts and crafts. If you are looking for a
gastronomic experience, Dublin boasts a vast array of
restaurants serving haute cuisine to traditional pub

The Midlands
is a truly beautiful region of Ireland that offers
everything from sports and historical monuments to
walking trips through the stunning countryside. The
natural beauty of the Midlands will truly astonish you
and a stroll beside one of the many lakes or rivers is a

golfer, some of Ireland's finest golf courses are found
in The Midlands, including the world-famous K Club. The

Ireland's oldest Christian settlements, Clonmacnoise, is

The North
West's landscape has been remarkably unaffected by the
passage of time and is a striking mixture of coastal
beauty, ramblings hills, mountains and lovely lakes, all
which provide an extremely interesting location for any
visitor.
If you are
interested in poetry, the North West is a must, as it
contains Sligo - the birthplace of one of Ireland's
greatest poets, W.B. Yeats. You can visit the Yeats
building and also visit his grave at Drumcliff
churchyard.

The South East

Cork shares with Kerry the south-western corner of

Cork is the
largest of all the Irish counties and Cork City, the
European Capital of Culture 2005 is alive with the

from which direction the county of Kerry is approached,
the great mountains of Macgillycuddy's Reeks draws the
eyes of the traveler, including Ireland's highest
mountain Carrauntoohil at 1, 039 m.

dominated by water, is a particularly beautiful part of
Ireland.
The West of Ireland is warm, wild and wonderful. A land

landscapes of Connemara.
Galway is

The Shannon Region is a place of great beauty embracing
counties Clare, North Kerry, Limerick, South Offaly and
North Tipperary. Limerick City is the historic capital
of the Region.

name from the majestic River Shannon. The region is
bordered by the dramatic Atlantic coastline, where you
can enjoy cliffs, golden beaches and quiet coves along
Europe's most westerly shores.
The
landscape also includes the rugged, lunar-like plateau
of the Burren in North Clare and idyllic waters of
Shannon's Lough Derg - Ireland's pleasure lake.
The Shannon
Region also has excellent visitor attractions, and
offers great activity options from world-class golf and
fishing to horse riding, walking, cycling and water
